The Many Faces of Bek

HAPPY 4 MONTHS BEKAH!

This month has been a lot of fun. Bekah is developing her own little personality and it is coming out in many ways. She definitely lets us know when she is happy and sad, but other characteristics have come out as well as you will see in the pics below. She giggled for the first time the other night, but she has also come up with a new sound that we are classifying as anger. 

She is moving around more and exploring the small world around her. She has become well acquainted with her bird toy which makes many different sounds when you play with it. She also loves her rattles and other soft toys. She has recently figured out that she can control those things on the end of her arms (aka: her hands) and they make a great soother as well as a chew-toy.  She is still a great sleeper, for which we are thankful, but we have had some sleep-less nights lately as she may be teething. Other than that, things are wonderful. Coming up next month: diving into the magical world of baby cereal and maybe finding a way to tuck that arm in so she can make the plunge onto her tummy... more to come... Mom got a new camera!

2 MONTHS

Bekah is 2 Months tomorrow! Time sure goes bye fast! 

Today she had a doctor's visit: you know what that means... 2 month shots! I think Bek did better than Mom. Bekah is now weighing in at 10 lbs 8 oz., she is 24 inches in length and doing great in every other department. She can hold her head up pretty well when she is on her tummy and loves to look around to see the world around her. She is starting to make sounds other than cries to express herself and she is definitely smiling at us now, which is also shown in the pictures below! Mom and Dad when to get lengths to capture that smile... so you better appreciate it! 

Bek is still a great sleeper, for which we are truly blessed! We've had a few restless nights which make us appreciate the good ones all the more! 

As for Mom and Dad: we are great! Dana had a great first Mother's Day. Bek spoiled her with a few new things for the porch and patio. Mitch is working hard, although his jaw is still some-what of a mystery... they just think he clenches his jaw in his sleep, which is causing the pain... next up: to the dentist for more tests! We'll keep you posted.

CONTEMPLATING LIFE

ON THE MOVE... BUT NOT QUITE

LIFE IS GOOD

5 weeks

It has been a while since we have blogged, so for those of you who are still checking, here is a quick update:

Rebekah has been behaving herself. She sleeps well at night (most nights from 12-6) which anyone who has kids will tell you that is an accomplishment this early in the game! She also has been caught smiling a few times (or maybe it's just gas, but we like to think she is smiling at us!) 

Her baptism went well, considering she was awake throughout the entire first half of the service, but didn't cry until the end. It was nice to see so many of our family and friends come to witness such an event. God has shown his faithfulness once again by giving us this covenant child. We hope to get some photos up soon!

Mom and Dad are also well. Mitch has finished school for the year and is off to the wonderful world of nursery work for the summer. Dana is at home with Bek finding things to do around the house. Home improvements that are lined up to be completed this summer include: painting the bathroom, front hall and possibly kitchen, the front porch is being re-done and Mitch just completed a side patio. The gardens are starting to bloom and new growth is coming up. We love to spend time outside in the summer!
